For supporters

What supporting means — and does not

This is the Supporter Information Sheet — the file we keep and are held to. Gaia puts each section in plain words beside it; the words of the sheet are what count. Two minutes. Nothing is agreed by reading it.

Supporting Project Gaia — what your account is, and is not

Supporter Information Sheet · version 1.0 · 27 September 2026

Please read this before you accept. It takes about two minutes.

What this is

Project Gaia is a research project by MyPetSitter Ltd, a small UK software company. We are finding out whether a small AI can be trusted on UK pet-care questions, taught by the people who do the work and checked by specialists. You have supported that work with a payment for a public mention. This account is our way of showing you the work as it happens, not only when it is published.

What supporting is

Sponsorship is a sale: an invoiced payment to a private company for a public mention on the supporters page and in the acknowledgements of what we publish. It is not a donation, it is not a share in anything, and it buys no say in what the research finds or publishes.

What your account shows you

  • Updates from the project — where the research has got to and where the money went, written for supporters, often before it is public.
  • Papers and reports — documents the project lead releases to you, to read before anybody else. Some are released to every supporter, some to named supporters only.
  • A line to the project — a private thread between you and the project lead. It is read by a person, and answered by one.
  • Your card — the line and the link the supporters page shows for you, in your hands while the sponsorship is live.

What your account never shows you

The research rooms, the review queues, the votes, the words of the people contributing their knowledge, the dataset, the leaderboards, or the other supporters. There is no supporters' channel and no list of who else supports; the project never introduces one supporter to another. This is deliberate: the people teaching Gaia were promised that their words reach reviewers and the research, and nobody else.

Unpublished work stays unpublished

What you read here may not yet be public. By accepting you agree not to pass it on before the project publishes it. When we publish, whichever way a result lands, you will have read it first.

What we keep about you

Your name, your email address, the organisation you support on behalf of, the messages you send the project, and which documents were released to you. Your messages are read by the project lead and nobody else. Nothing about you is sent to any AI model.

Leaving

You can close the account at any time from inside it, or by email. Within 30 days the account and your messages are deleted. Your mention on the supporters page is separate: it stays for as long as you want it to, and goes when you ask.

Questions or complaints

Write to research@mypetsitter.org. The Project Lead is responsible for this project and reads every message. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

What you agree to when you accept

  • I understand that Project Gaia is research by MyPetSitter Ltd, a private company, and that my support is a payment to that company for a public mention — not a donation, and not a share in anything.
  • I understand that this account shows me the project's updates, the documents the project lead chooses to release to me, and a private line to the project — and nothing from the research rooms, the contributors, or the other supporters.
  • I understand that what I read here may be unpublished, and I will not pass it on before the project publishes it.
  • I can leave at any time: my account and my messages are deleted within 30 days, and my mention on the supporters page stays only as long as I want it to.

Nothing is agreed by reading this. You are asked to accept it from your invitation, and nothing is ticked for you.

The sheet itself carries its version and date, at the top.

In plain words

A research project by a small UK company — and this account shows you the work while it happens.

This is taking longer than usual — still connecting.
